The Land Based Education framework, presented by the Saskatchewan Indigenous Cultural Centre, has been developed over the years to revitalize First Nations culture and First Nations people's relationship with the land. Through the involvement of a community's local members, teachers, Elders and leaders, this framework is designed to help achieve the students potential and to inspire a positive future for themselves, their families, and their community.

Land-Based Learning

I fully enjoy my position as the Land-Based Educator at Dennis Franklin Cromarty First Nations High School in Thunder Bay. I attend a Land-Based conference in Winnipeg and one of the booths had this super book on display. It is now a welcomed addition to our Land-Based curriculum resources. It is the only resource that I know that is culturally designed for land-based educators. The thematic units and supporting lesson plans are very user friendly. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a functional guide to support and enhance a land-based program.
